What to do with a huge crop of apples if you don’t have an old-fashioned root cellar?

Our juice-making equipment can turn your bumper crop into a delicious, nutritious, preservative-free juice that can be kept at cool room temperature for one year. Enjoy the fruits of your own trees or join in our harvest.
Custom juicing: How it works
Come and make juice!
For the best juice, pick your apples when they are sweet and ripe and starting to drop. (Unripe fruit makes a sour, less stable juice.) Don’t collect any apples that are rotten, but don’t worry if they have a bit of scab or if they get bruised during picking.
Bring your apples to our press at Sophienhof and help load them into our fruit washing machine. Watch as your apples are crushed, pressed, pasteurized and packaged in 4-litre bag-in-box containers within an hour. Bottle options are also available upon request.

Bag-in-box is a convenient package that allows you to have juice “on tap”. A spigot allows you to withdraw juice without getting air into the product, so that the juice stays fresh for as long as two months at room temperature, longer in the refrigerator.
If you bring over 200 lb of apples (a large bucket weighs about 25lb), we will process your order separately.
Smaller quantities can be pooled to create a batch of juice. We can help you create a custom blend.
Pears are welcome too! They can be mixed up to 50/50 with apples.
